What kind of coffee beans do you use?
​
​The sweet signature aroma of TRU BRU is characteristic of our freshly roasted and ground 100% Costa Rican Arabica.
​
Costa Rican coffee, grown at between 1200 and 1800m altitude, is best known for its intrinsicly well-rounded and balanced character. A bright entry of tropical fruits matures into molasses on the mid pallet. Finally, a subtle wine-like finish with pronounced licorice lingers. Truly, a little something to tease every corner of your pallet.

Is TRU BRU ice drip coffee?

No, TRU BRU is brewed cold by full immersion (also known as infusion).
With the ice drip method, the collected brew is left to rest at room temperature for the entire 8-12 hours of brewing time. The resulting oxidation produces a sharper flavour profile. Ice dripped coffee is especially appreciated by home brewers for its cleaner filtration and more pungent aroma, when compared to immersion cold brew.

How is TRU BRU made?
​
No heat is ever introduced into our brewing process. First, we fully submerse our ground coffee into cold water. The mixture is then left to age and mature for over 30 hours as it steeps and infuses in the refrigerator.
The longer exposure time extracts more caffeine for a stronger, full bodied and potent cup. The lower temperature minimises oxidation to lessen bitterness and harshness. The result is maximum smoothness, but no compromises on flavour - that's the magic of immersion cold brewing.

How is TRU BRU filtered?
​
We don't believe in shortcuts when it comes to good coffee. That's why we patiently triple-filter every batch by hand to ensure ice-drip-level clean, and cold-brew-level smooth.

Does TRU BRU contain any alcohol?
No. The only 3 ingredients we use are coffee, water, and low-fat milk.

Is there such a thing as "FAKE Cold Brew Coffee"?
​
Cold brewing is fast gaining popularity in Malaysia as more people are discovering the unique experience it brings to enjoying coffee. We couldn't be more excited to see so many great examples on the market from exceptionally talented roasters and brewers.

Unfortunately, not all "Cold Brews" are created equal. Some are doused with flavours and sweeteners to mask the staleness of left-over bottom-drawer coffee, while others are not actually brewed cold (or even brewed at all).
